about
This song is the first track The Sobriquet's put together way back in 2006.
It was chosen to be played on Tom Robinson's BBC Radio 6 show, on a Sunday evening. This was before the unsuccessful attempt at a closure of BBC Radio 6.
Triple Distilled was a very personal piece of writing & certainly isn’t a happy track and Jake Chalker made it into exactly what we both wanted.
I don’t like calling myself a Poet, but I do write all the time. Jake takes mine and his own musical ideas and turns them into what you hear. He is the genius behind The Sobriquet’s.
lyrics
Root’s ignored, time has become a bore.
I’m never sure but always pure.
Will I ever find the cure to this disease?
Unleashed on condition, it’s a special edition.
I have sank into a senseless remission with my own permission.
It’s a revenge of the mind battling the purity of my heart.
Before long it will pull me apart.
Triple distilled and slightly chilled.
Chekov doesn’t love me because I’m all pilled,
But this imperial is serial to be so clear.
Clear with fear for you my dear.
Surrounded by clutter I begin to shudder.
The promises she made she didn’t play.
It put a gap between us a constant delay.
For her… here I decay… forever and a day…. For that chance I pray.
Triple distilled and slightly chilled Chekov doesn’t love me cause I’m all pilled.
But this imperial is serial to be so clear. Clear with fear for me my dear.
Codeine calls, through valium walls. Chekov hears the calls.
Travelling through the paths he find the cure…
By killing me even though he’s not sure.
Oh well he’s made my life pure.
